Ann Mai MD

Dr. Mai is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who has been in practice since 1998. Coming from a family of doctors she was naturally led into Medicine and before she knew it, she was one of the youngest to ever graduate from medical school at the age of 22! She was raised in Canada and received her M.D. from the University of Toronto. Internship and Residency were completed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where she still maintains strong ties. Dr. Mai has privileges at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian (both in Irvine and Newport Beach).

In 2008, she was awarded a Patient's Choice recognition by her patients through a national on-line survey. Less than 5% of the nation's doctors are given this honor.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her sons' events, non-profit work, golf and shoes!

Anita Bajpai MD

Dr. Anita Bajpai is board certified in Internal Medicine. She received her medical degree at UCLA in 2000 and completed her internship and residency at UCLA Medical Center in 2003. She completed a fellowship in clinical nutrition at UCLA in 2004 and is a board certified Physician Nutrition Specialist. She has been clinical faculty at UCLA since 2004 and was working in primary care and obesity management at the WLA VA from 2004 - 2009. She recently relocated to Orange County and is now in private practice here.

Dr. Bajpai is a proud new mother; her son was born in March 2009. She enjoys outdoor activities (hiking, swimming, surfing) with her family.

Bita Badakhshan, M.D.

Dr Bita Badakhshan grew up in Sweden and moved to Southern California in 1996. She did her undergrad at UC Irvine, graduated medical school at St Georges and finished her Family Medicine Residency Program at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. She recently moved back to Southern California in 2011. After residency she worked at Woodbury Medical Group, Sand Canyon Urgent Care, and Kaiser Permanente in Orange County.

Dr Badakhshan has significant experience in primary care, urgent care, occupational injuries, and aesthetic procedures. She believes in advocating a healthy lifestyle for her patients through preventive health measures.

Her daily active lifestyle consists of yoga, beach volleyball, and skiing. Her guilty pleasures are red wine, cheese plates, and dark chocolate.

Our Staff

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is here to take care of your medical needs. They work together as a team, so you can relay your questions and concerns to anyone on our staff.

Please note that we do not have nurses / RNs on staff. Our support staff are MEDICAL ASSISTANTS who work under direct supervision of our physicians.

Insurances

We accept most PPOs and HMOs only under the Greater Newport Physicians group. We do not accept Medicare nor Tricare insurances.
